    SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS AND THE UPPER SAVANNAH RIVER REGION...
    .A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL PERSIST WEST OF THE APPALACHIANS
    THROUGH SUNDAY...WITH DEEP MOISTURE REMAINING IN PLACE OVER THE
    REGION. WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL
    DEVELOP EASTWARD FROM THIS SYSTEM ALONG A STALLED FRONT AND BRING
    PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL TO THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS...NORTHEAST
    GEORGIA...AND THE EXTREME WESTERN UPSTATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA. SOIL
    CONDITIONS ARE ALREADY MOIST...AND ANY REPEATED ROUNDS OF HEAVY
    SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE SAME LOCATION COULD QUICKLY LEAD
    TO FLASH FLOODING THROUGH SUNDAY.

    THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR
    * PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST GEORGIA...WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND
    UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN
    NORTHEAST GEORGIA...ELBERT...FRANKLIN...HABERSHAM...HART...
    RABUN AND STEPHENS. IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA...GRAHAM...
    HAYWOOD...MACON...MADISON...NORTHERN JACKSON...SOUTHERN
    JACKSON AND SWAIN. IN UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA...GREATER OCONEE
    AND OCONEE MOUNTAINS.
    * THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING
    * THE THREAT FOR HEAVY RAIN PRODUCING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
    WILL INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON AND PERSIST THROUGH SUNDAY.
    ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 2 OR 3 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE
    WATCH AREA...AND THIS RAINFALL WILL AFFECT LOCATIONS WHERE THE
    GROUND IS ALREADY SATURATED FROM RECENT RAINFALL.
    * RIVERS AND STREAMS IN THE SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS
    AND THE UPPER SAVANNAH RIVER VALLEY WILL RISE WITH THE
    ANTICIPATED RAINFALL THROUGH SUNDAY. PERIODS OF TORRENTIAL
    DOWNPOURS WITH ANY THUNDERSTORMS MAY CAUSE RAPID RISES ALONG
    STREAMS AND CREEKS...AND ASSOCIATED FLASH FLOODING.
