I was listening to a local radio program this afternoon and heard a Democratic candidate for a county wide position here in Newton Co. speaking................seriously? Almost every sentence he used incorrect grammar or used an inappropriate word. Is there no standard anymore.........? The Democratic party would do themselves a big favor if they would send some of these people through english courses and improve their vocabulary and grammar its pitiful and embarrassing.
Just to clarify (because I looked into this) The City of Covington Police Officers you see working for Vampire Diaries are off duty and are being paid by Vampire Diaries. Vampire Diaries is doing just like other production companies and events that come in they hire off duty officers to stay there with them. I am getting tired of people complaining about people filming around here, sure its an occasional pain in the rear but its better than the alternative: a sad dried up downtown where nobody goes or wants to go, a town that nobody gets off the interstate to spend money in. REMINDER: people from other places that spend money here pay sales tax here, they leave the tax they paid stays and

If you watched the council meeting a few weeks ago one of the downtown building owners went before the Council asking for help said the Fire Marshall pretty much shut down anything he wanted to do. He was given either a NO or yes IF and the IF was so much money that it didnt make any sense to do it for the rent he can charge. The City has got to realize that the buildings up there are old and you cant make them new and then
rent them at a reasonable rate. If they dont get a reality check on the regs for these old buildings up there and make it EASY to do business up there it will continue to go down.
take it public like a Council Meeting , w/ names go to somebody thats going to do something about it not just on here. The people that need to know about are not going to do anything based on some Citizen Poll comment because they know that half of the posts are not correct or have no basis and so many of the people are ill informed and just assume things. Like the lady below that assumed the officer was asleep. I was told they can do their reports in their vehicles now on an in car computer so I am assuming they were doing a report, some people always got that negative frame of mind
I say take it public!
Re: your closing statement , I say people like you that know some facts that need to be made public and do not bring it forward formally so it can be dealt with or disproven are in essence allowing the activity to continue. Go to the paper with the proof, contact City Council members, call the I-Team Do Something!
If you google CALEA you will get your internationally accredited answer, pretty impressive.
