A pedestrian bridge would be a colossal waste of money! Come on-$75k for an engineering study plus $200K to put toward the bridge--that is an insult to the taxpayers! Regardless if you can get 200,000 in private funding we are still talking 75K for the study. Get your priorities straight!
Agreed! I saw someone using an EBT card to buy an energy drink at the gas station. Great use of our tax dollars! I get so tired of paying for everyone else when my family has to stretch our dollars. No $5.00 enery drinks for us! I also love seeing those who "qualify" for welfare in any sort driving a newer car than I have, having their nails and hair done, and are dressed to the nines.
Your compassion is touching! A person is dead-show some respect!
To the "powers that be": see what a laughingstock Alcovy is?? When are you people (the BOE) going to get it--clean house over there starting with the principal and work your way down. You would be surprised what proper, qualified leadership could accomplish. I would be scared too death to send my child to that school--I feel sorry for the students that actually want to learn and the teachers that want to teach at AHS. In the near future AHS may have no students or teachers interested in education--what are you going to do then? I guess let the animals run the zoo!
You read my mind!!
Mr. Meadors seems to be the only one getting it right. Others are upset because the truth or rather Mr. Meador's opinion ( and the opinion of many I might add) hurts doesn't it?? Something needs to be done about these closed meetings--Johnson and Campbell-you need to go!! It is wonderful to know there are bullys on the BOE! There is so much wrong with NCSS and this is what some BOE members want to waste valuable time and our tax dollars on! How much needs to be said and what needs to happen to get the Zoo on 36 under control? That should be top priority not what is in Mr. Meador's column. There needs to be some house cleaning and it needs to start with the BOE!
Great job Jiggs! As for the thieves-get a d*#^ job!!!! I am beyond tired of these thugs with a sense of entitlement thinking everything is theirs for the taking!
I am sure the pictures here do not do this woodworking justice. I for one cannot wait to go the the festival to see Mr. Brown's work. I am sure I will walk away with several things. What a craftsman!!
AHS makes the paper again-congrats! I feel terrible for the victim--I cannot imagine what he and his family must be going through! It is pathetic that our children cannot go to school without being afraid of being assaulted. The victim tried to do the right thing by reporting the alleged contraband and look what it got him!!! Something needs to be done! The other two need to be expelled period! Furthermore, if students are expelled or sent to Sharp or whatever it is called now, Mommy & Daddy need to foot the bill!!! What happened to zero tolerance regarding bullying? Too many young people take eductation for granted. Do you think this type of behavior is seen in poor countries where free education is scarce? If I was the mom of the victim I would make sure some heads would roll at the school level and with the two perpetrators. They need to know actions have consequences.
If these baggy pants wearing folks knew how ridiculous they really looked they wouldn't wear their pants like that in the first place. How can you walk anyway with your pants around your knees? Pants on the ground, pants on the ground!!!!!
