No - our education is NOT better than anyone, but we sure pay a lot more than most. Maybe it is time taxpayers said NO to more monies for the BOE. I have lost my benefits but I am to make sure my taxes pay for others - go figure.....I am not happy about any of these decisions by either board in Newton County.. What would happen, if other property owners are looking to leave this county as I am doing soon.

And- all of this could have been prevented and stopped by the Super and board from the beginning. Are you people in charge, so afraid of losing your "cushy" jobs, that you will not step out of your box......???? This complete matter is disgusting and sad. But , thank-you very much board, my school taxes keep on climbing.....

I welcome other opinions...Some people amaze me with only (what I call) "programmed tunnel vision"......and never learn or listen to others...

It makes me madder that senior citizens of Newton County are still paying SCHOOL taxes when most other counties are giving them a break. Why does Newton BOE stubbornly, selfishly, refuse to stop this. It is a shame education in this county cannot survive without our monies. Just asking....

Let's see - Mr. Middleton resigned admin officer, accepted a higher position (in same county government) with probably more money and benefits (now or certainly later) and more power, with only the approval of 3 commissioners and the knowledge of an overpaid attorney. Okay - now Newton County tax payers, are you paying attention.
