I challenge any tax payer, to visit our school for one day unaanounced,be a FLY on the wall to see how this process work. No other industry has the mandates placed on them by those who NEVER visit a classroom or school. When car tags go up the powers that be never protes, we just pay. . This is a different era of OLDS that educators deal with on a daily basis. Better results are demanded/expected, the goals are met yet no THANKS is given to the classroom teacher. Parents are not the same......some just want babysitters(teachers are never appreciated til a snow day...and parents have to provide supervision of their own children)...educator retstraints...........apathy of the electorate, leadership out of touch. Yet these children will grow up and some will become productive citizens in spite of what is said in this blog.
There are many that passed through our School System , who went on and Faired well. I wish for Dr. Carpenter and his family every good blessing and success in their future endeavor. It was the FACTS that brought him to Newton County, THE FACTS of job performance in the area of his expertise that made other communities seek his experience for employment. We want the the best for our community, we can no longer sit by, allow these baseless/mindless character assasinations to represent the whole of our community. We cannot blame one source for the failure of our schools, we all are responsible for the future of our community. The world reads these mindless/negative comments on social media; these posts do not represent the whole of our community. With these expression /comments must be embraced with a new level of commitment to be be hands on by parents,educators, tax paying citizens. We want the world to know that we can dislike the job a person does by utilizing the process we have in place,make the correction, move on. as we invite the corporate community to come we must sell the positive/success in our community nopt be misguided by a few disgruntled employees/staff/parents. We have the disruption in our schools because the children model at school what is shared in the homes. There is no utopia for PERFECT schools...all are a work in process. Yes, I have personally engaged my board member,city representative and county commisioner about my concerns. We need trained workforce for the high tech jobs coming our way. Let us work toward a resolve/solution in a intelligent manner dealing with the FACTS of guiding us where we desire to be. This is a GREAT community ! ! I am proud to say my children were educated here, did well, all graduated college, productive citizens in their respective communites.
If we lose all that we have...with the best planning WE THINK we have....where woould we go........The residents of the Shelter were once productive in our society just as we are. We need to help guide them back to a normal existence and not make this a PERMANENT abode. Thanks for CARING, ACCOUNTABLE leaders in our community stepping up. Mission starts at home then abroad ! !
We have a good school system, that meets the challenges as do any other school system. If illegal, non professional acts were taking place in our school system and you are not reporting them, then YOU are part of the program. Stop the verbal assaults if they have no merit. These complaints seemingly come from some MISDIRECTED , SUB PAR employees who were not satisfied with the grievance process that is in place. How dare you slam the peoples right to elect a board they will guide a school in a direction that is different than the direction we are going. Your small minded shallow comments are read by more than the your buddies and cronies. Remember this board did not elect this Superitendent so now is the previous board incompetent. Should you take your children out of public education you set them up to never learning how to rise up above controversy and use of the concept COMPROMISE. I am reminded of those NIT WITS who call for coach richt resignation after the South Carolina loss.....di not see the picture. If you do not SEE ONE or a ray of hope in our SCHOOL SYSTEM you are invited to get intimately involved in the process ! ! Your Monday morning quarterback antics are just what they are ANTICS ! !...Share some positive ideas as to what can get the results you want.

The travesty of shallow minds to allow petty grievances to impact whole schooldistict. The process works when properly handled by the those in charge. The SMOKE SCREEN that policies have been broken,should have followed the the procedures that have been put in place. I am embarassed to know that ADULTS can cowardly assassinate the character of a person with inuendo of confusion. These are probably the staff who did not like an evaluation and did not exercise the grievance procedure. The blogging process allows them to thro rocks and hide their hands. All our children are NOT thugs at Alcovy. The children have a right to learn in a safe environment. We should want that ALL our schools. Our agenda should be to positively work to enhance the the school system at every level. PTO is the same every where, you only show up when your child is on stage,then leave after their performance, never stay for business sessions, parent conferences....I challenge my child teacher as to how I can help my child be all they can be. We chosed to move to this community, because it shows promise. The common theme that is expressed is present in every school in Rockdale,Gwinnett,Morgan and other surrounding communities. How do we prepare leaders to lead if we revert to common negativity. I have shared with some Board members and they were right not to micro manage the system, their role is to establish policy, if the policy in place should not be altered to satisfy YOUR personal agenda or cause havoc. There has not been a report in this blog to speak to the Gates Scholars in our system. Our school system can compete.......look at our areas of improvement. WHatever system that is put in place...........some will always complain ! ! I challenge you to GET INVOLVED positively...to make ALL OUR SCHOOLS BETTER ......Strong
