hey Will....LBJ pushed these programsthat created your "welfare leeches" and there have been seven terms of Republican presidents and several years of Republican controlled Congress since 1968 - if tthe Republicans were all that and wanted to get rid of these programs they could have....but they simply play on your stupidity.
You obviously don't know that Republican politicians can acutally vote to repel laws on the books don't you...and if your answer is "yes" then you obviously are making thinly velied comments about your dislike of Black Americans...Typical stupid Newton redneck...I wonder if you strong Christian faith and views (which are based on the teachings and examples of Jesus) can balance with your narrow-minded ignornace and hatred. Unless you feel that's what the Gospels teach us, which is different than what I've learned through many years as a practicing Christian...
Why do you assume he wouldn't bring a pencil? That's just a statement made out of ignorance. This county has so much talent in our schools and all you bloggers ever want to do is assume there is no good in our schools. Here's an idea, get to know these kids - really invest in our future and I think you would be surprised...open your mind and stop repeating what you hear and maybe you will stop passing on negative stereotypes without merit.
Also, if the schools would embrace the technology these kids have mastered everyone could bring this "stuff" to school and use them to learn instead of using way too much paper and constantly rebuying textbooks...but I'm sure the thought of educating students in this manner scares you as well.
Two years for ruining a child's life? Ridiculous! I guess this crime didn't meet the Newton County standard for tough sentencing...typical.
gobraves....If you think private school students are any less likely to steal, lie, cheat, and hold contraban...you obviously have your head in the sand and are part of the problem.
If you are the parent of a teenager, you are obviously believing their lies to you. So, wake up, wake up, wake up!
All this sounds great, however the real data that should be analyzed isn't based on race, it's based on days out of the classroom. Students must be in the classroom and receive direct instruction in order to be successful. When students attend school regulary and are in classrooms which are managed effectively, students learn and succeed. When this doesn't happen, they do not learn, they do not succeed, and data is misread.
It definitely means we underfund the classroom but why let facts get in the way of a good argument...everyone love to bash schools as an example of Socialism and many give Marx "credit" for the concept...as a history teacher I challenge you "über smart capitalist religious conservatives" to bash the original socialist - Jesus. Maybe you guys should reevaluate and the listen to the Gospels and even read the lesser known ones and truly live His word...
Dear John- first of all and sincerely thank you...now, the problem is we are placed on earth by something more powerful than us and live by borders created by individuals who feel they are/were more powerful than we are...how can anyone simply say man's law supercedes the open range we were allowed to enjoy for a short time? Finger pointing and territory claiming have created centuries of hate and war- maybe we should change the approach if we really want a different and better world.
Dear America - all moves by ALL politicians are motivated by selfish interests. Please stop believing it is a monopoly of the sitting President or his predecessor. Wake up and realize it's their game and we are just along for the ride....
We are a country of "illegal aliens" ask the Native Americans if those in Roanoke Island, Jamestown, Plymouth, and Savannah had filled out the proper paperwork to entire THEIR country? Wake up, quit pointing fingers and think your side is right and the other is wrong. Neither are right - both create distrust and hate in order to rule...
If these politicians really had different believes do you think a Republican President and Congress wouldn't have overturned LBJ's Great Society legislation. The more things change, the more they stay the same - but kudos for letting great public speakers tell you how to think.
Not your typical narrow-minded Southern Gentleman
