TheUpside 1 year, 2 months ago on SPLOST could purchase safety equipment, help property taxes

All of this splost stuff was under the assumption that enrollment in NCSS would grow - it has not grown - NCSS is losing kids left and right. The system is going down in enrollment not up not too far now from the 18,000s nowhere near the 23K to 25K students they projected when wanting this SPLOST.

THis could have been planned in the Nov. 6th election and saved taxpayers 38K why did the NEWTON BOE not think of that or not do it? Wasteful at every turn they are.

And you don't need new schools especially high schools our seniors are the smallest class due to drop outs. I had someone tell me the other that kids are leaving Newton schools so if the new Newton High will hold 2500 students and the current Newton High only has 1800 there you have 700 seats you can use NO NEW SCHOOLS and NO SPLOST.

This is outrageous in these economic times or in any economic times.

And then there is the moral issue. You give away free 70K to quitters and then turn around in one week and ASK FOR MORE TAXPAYER MONEY? An outrage!!!!!!!

I agree let's see the board take the lead and change SPLOST laws but for now I agree VOTE NO on this. Until SPLOST can pay salaries for TEACHERS not worthless central office whacks then I say vote NO.

I say sue the system if your kid is hurt. If LaQuanda Carpenter can run around filing dumb lawsuits and then split town why not? File suit and take care of your kids since NCSS won't do it.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. His new district is plagued with problems go Google it - they deserve him in every way and his wife.

The school system and the schools must produce several pieces of information that the visiting accreditation team will review and look to for evidence: executive summary, self assessment, assurances, student performance, improvement plan and stakeholder feedback.

Dear NCSS please send out a stakeholder survey on Alcovy High School to faculty, staff, parents and all in the district and make it anonymous so people can be honest about the disaster AdvancED needs to be aware of at Alcovy High School. Student performance? Wow it's all below state and county and nation except for a writing score. What is the improvement plan for getting us a principal who has experience with leading a school the right way at Alcovy High School. The LaQuanda Carpenter lawsuit resulted in total loss of respect for her.

And the school system says give us more money more money more money. Give us money to put teacher microphones around their necks - oh if the children can hear me better they will behave NOT! NO TO SPLOST MARCH 19th. I now agree.

TheUpside 1 year, 4 months ago on Newton Schools to keep conflict of interest policy

A reasonable conflict does exist. Missing money allegations at Alcovy where spouse oversees spouse budget???? What other school do we hear this about today in Newton? None. NO SPLOST do not waste your time. You have proven your ethics NCSS by allowing the spouse situation to exist. Not another penny.

I don't see him running again would you put up with this 4 more years? I already plan to help him if he does and I already suggesed he make the lawsuit dismissal and all he knows about corruption a theme of his campaign. The plaintiff will then stay in the news for this mess for years. I still am waiting on a countersuit. If he takes my advice he can tell it all.
