No it provides NO PAY for teachers who need it the most. We must cut central office jobs and pay over 80K.

Force transparency here somebody. Why in HELL pay them anything not to work? Recall this entire board that is my tax money.

We still have a great board member who writes informative pieces. We lost a candidate for judge who we never wanted. We are losing two divisive employees who have been disasters to NCSS IMO since they came here. We are losing a Super who had no chance - what a mess like herding cats but I do think he should have disciplined these Carpenters there is enough there. We saw the true colors of our Chamber President and the colors ran out of the room from what I saw after he acting like an adolescent boy. Hey Baxter, try us back in 10 years for education.

Agreed Del but the public needs to watch every step of the new search for Supt like laser focus on it because even if my kids don't go to public schools the schools like Alcovy kill property values in the community. Make the search process open by demand - show up people to these meetings.

Foster seems to have had their number all along. There is a lot to come out I would say and moving to MO won't make it go away or make them immune or free of legal exposure. The b lame here has to be put where it belongs: Dennis and LaQuanda Carpenter began this to start with but the bad things go back to 2008 with him and 2009 with her from what people in the school system say and yes Mr. Covingtonian who you may ever be - the facts come in all sides against your buddies. Face it. SACS needs to step in on a few issues.

I hope every board member in that Missouri town has a Jeff Foster, Esquire in their pocket. That guy kicked some major butt and they all scrambled like roaches.

Wow - 17.5 days of school in the month of November if you take out the early release day and five days off for Thanksgiving and look at these crime numbers. Hunter Hall - are you still selling NCSS? Wow just wow. @John I do think there is a little truth here to it. The student body from what teachers are saying finally fear a principal in Mr. Lee and in the case of Alcovy High they need to fear a principal. THey have not done so in years so teachers say he is helping the overall tone and climate to settle down and putting some fear of God in the kids - a great thing and a way to help teachers. So you have a lot of truth in what you say but in this case I think he has immediately set a tone for kicking real butt.

I don't know John but he makes excellent points here. The enrollment declines monthly in NCSS. Students are fleeing to private and home schools and parents are moving - some of it is housing and jobs but some of it is clearly the bad situation at Alcovy High School - just a fact like it or not and the unwillingness for the central office to remove people who are apparently not qualified for given jobs. Eastside High school by and large does NOT WANT A NEW BUILDING. Ask anyone there and you will get 9 of 10 saying leave us the heck alone. They like it the way it is. The theme school has a wonderful principal but the design of the school is crumbling. The parents continue to be problematic and micromanaging and even board member(s) have shown they are disgruntled with things and teachers (some not all) did not find green pastures here. Technology? We have spent many bucks here and I don't see this needing to be in SPLOST when almost all of our schools are now in Title One and getting MAJOR BUCKS from the feds for technology so pooey on that. This SPLOST can't pass and the BOC SPLOST overage on the judicial bldg shows just what happens - give them your vote and the promises get broken. Problem here is that even within NCSS most don't approve of the items on the SPLOST. EASTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL DOES NOT WANT TO BE A BIG NEW SCHOOL. TAKE IT FROM THE "ALCOVY EXPERIMENT" - WE DO NOT WANT IT. Plus who oversaw the addition to Alcovy High that had no lights or heat or air for what six months? Yep you know who did that right? NCSS needs a lot of work but the work needed does not cost money. The central office needs to bring employees in line with policies. That is free and in fact could save money.
