I was looking at the categories for these documentation requests and that is a big net they are dragging. I wonder if they will stop now that the lawsuit is dropped or will they go ahead and start digging through this info? There is bound to be dirt in there. Meadors spoke of a "system flushing" a while back. this might be a good vehicle. Also, I wish the school system could respond to all lawsuits from crappy parents like this. If the system lawyer/s approached every potential lawsuit like this, we would not have any issues from parents.
What? Be careful. She sues folks that put unverified info in here. Oh. you already know!
I do not trust Lindey's judgement. SHe let Carpenter pull her into that libel case instead of giving her the good advise of ignoring commenters and doing her job. Can Carpenter prove that her job performance or perception of it has gotten worse because of comments in the paper? If not, this was a bad choice for Lindsey.
Please do a follow up regarding the sentence for this crime. I think it will help deter others from making things up if the punishment is severe.
This policeman is sure in the paper a lot. He is either a good policemen and the citizens are ornery, or the citizens are good and he is hard to deal with. This kind of stuff doesn't just happen without some underlying problem.
This is very disappointing. But at least it is informative. It is time for some new board members. Many principals face negative comments in newspaper forums. The proper reaction to the comments is to fix the legitimate issues and ignore the idiots who don't know what they are talking about. All of the negative publicity is a result of Laquanda Carpenter's reaction to these ads. Look at the Rockdale Citizen. It has idiots commenting about principals all the time but you don't see any of them trying to sue people over it. This town is lucky that the story has not gone national with the free speech implications. The one board member said her biggest concern is the children and this whole situation and the way the board is not addressing the lawsuit is bad for the children of Newton. If Carpenter doesn't drop this it will only get worse.
I really hope the cops catch this maniac and the judge puts him away forever.
Ethics issues? Well guess what? Georgia is considered the worst state in the country regarding ethics according to this report. I would like to know how these two candidates and the rest feel about improving this. Someone please ask them in a public setting if possible.
I don't really know how the court works. does this mean the whole thing is over? or does this just leave like it was on the 19th when the judge said kinda the same thing? Was there ever really going to be a lawsuit or did Carter just want the names so she could get tough with them?
