Having lived in South Georgia for a number of years, I watched Lake Seminole become infested with the same invasive plant.The cause is from migratory water foul bringing in the seed from other infested lakes.
This situation is a known entity and is more reason than ever for getting drinking water from a flowing river than building more reservoirs. Once infested, no lake is ever safe from it again.
