You don't get settlements in public schools time worked is time paid what is this all about? How much tax payer MONEY is being paid to them and is this legal? ANSWERS please.
Looks like to me the SSOs are all over the AJC and legislators have brought them up and I checked the DOE site and yes they are there so I think it sounds to me like he is sharing what is already out there I don't see an agenda just the facts. If your point holds true then the legislators and the DOE site are promoting what you refer to and a columnist is just discussing?
Newton BOE is now majority black. There has been a black board chair for the past two years (the two worst years in NCSS history) and they will NOT appoint a white board chair. Johnson and Turner will oppose Fuhrey based on hiring practices (on which they are flat wrong) but they will go off the normal rotation and find a way NOT to appoint a white chair. Wait and see. Take your kids and your money and go to home schools or private schools or just leave totally the state of NCSS over the past 2 years with these two board chairs is in the toilet.
Why I love 2013: 1. Carpenters are leaving Newton County. 2. We can promote Ms. Fuhrey for Supe and she will be better than any candidate the Board of Bad Grammar can ever find. I am so sick of the Carpenter crap and even hearing their names.
Please take the two who voted no on her - Turner and Johnson - OUT of the decision making process and let Meadors Baker and Coggin make the decision.
Very good points here and backed up with research - always enjoy this column we need educated educators on every school board and we need to put more of our students on college campuses like this says.
I just talked with RESA they have helped with many many searches and they say our board uses them for training. SACS is coming in January so I hope the LaQuanda Carpenter lawsuit and the violatons of IFBG and GAG and so on don't cause our system problems is there any truth to the GBI stuff if so that could be a issue like DeKalb I hope that is not true about the GBI.

This whole ordeal was a lose lose for Carpenter, Lindsey and the Covington News. Wow. A win win for free speech and commenters.
