REGIONAL: A project on Salem road is not REGIONAL. Yes it would help a small number of people in the local area. If you look at all road expansion projects in the metro Atlanta area over the past 50 years you will see that an expanded road = expanded development in the area = MORE congested traffic = the need for more road surface. A never ending problem. True mass transit (REGIONAL) projects would help more than any other solution. Pet projects in each county do not solve REGIONAL traffic congestion issues. MARTA was too small in scope to help over the long term.
