I think the important question would be WHY Baxter wants this done? Their own spokes person cannot say why they want this done so what is the issue? Has Baxter got something up their sleeve or is this another promise the BOC made to them? This has got to benefit Baxter in some way or it wouldnt be an issue with them. It also seems like Douglas is trying to circumvent the wishes of the residents by asking Congress to change it.

John I was only making note that it seems the articles about the vote stopped a week or two before the voting. Any other time there would be artilces every day. Its just sad that there were more articles about St Patrick's Day activities than about this imortant issue :P

Just makes me wonder why there were no articles in any of the papers yesterday reminding people to vote on this issue? It is pathetic that less than 2000 people were interested enough to go to the polls and vote. I guess if you want to pass a tax by the people just set a special election that will cost extra money and do it at a time when people arent thinking about an election or voting. Good job of fleecing the people BOE.

okay first who is Jeff Meadows and second I didnt know Jeff Meadows was on the Board of Commissioners. Get your facts straight. Although I do agree with your statement about qualified educated leaders on the BOC.

Why such a big difference in th number of students in the other schools? A difference of 300 to 800 students makes you believe there should be some adjustment of the students and not more staff. Wouldnt it be easier and cheaper to do that instead?

Frustrated 2 months, 1 week ago on Durden defends work; still on the job after contract canceled

Here we go again. Because of questionable acts by the BOC to start with we are going to end up paying for legal fees and, more than likely, a lot of money to settle a law suit. This BOC needs to start thinking BEFORE they act and not look at things in hindsight. Here we are just three months into their terms and already had two questionable contracts approved. As an old saying goes..put your brain in gear before you put your mouth in motion.

Makes one wonder what else Baxter was promised? Why not get their own zipcode? Im sure ole Morty can arrange that too.

All you have to do is look back at the previous year and see how much money was wasted by NCSS. It should be no problem deciding which way to vote on this. $500 K to put lights in the new athletic field that should have been added in at the start, water and sewer fees for the new school that werent negotiated until the end, and do I even have to mention the Carpenter fiasco? My vote will be to put a stop to all this crazy spending the BOE is doing.
