When I am visiting the recycling centers here in Newton County what angers me is the blatent disrespect that some citizens show for the recycling mission. I have seen broken appliances in the compactor, a dead dog in the bulk garbage, metal in the plastic bin and plastic in the paper recycling. The workers are overloaded with correcting these types of issues. If they choose to take a moment to pet a cat as they take a break I have no problem with that. The workers at the HWY 36 center are doing an excellent job and I commend them.
Kevin, those of us who knew you while you were at Cousins Middle School are so proud of what you are accomplishing. You have kept your focus, your work ethic, and your humility. Way to go my friend!
Jeff, I really appreciate this. You have gotten to the very heart of the problem in the Newton County School System today. Teachers are as dedicated as ever, but have been beaten down by dogma, micromanagement and buzzwords. I have not been able to dance around like a puppet and be an effective teacher...
There is never anything that is funny about a shooting and if you think so then you are part of a community problem. Try substituting one of your loved ones name in the place of those involved and then see the entertainment value.
