Since the system can do obviously do without Mr. Carpenter (no one will fill in for him), why not? That one thing would take care of two birds with one stone. No more nepotism.
You were "told even Matthews has referred to it as a conflict and tried to correct it"? If he can't correct it, who can? This is an unmitigated mess. Should have been nipped in the bud, to quote good old Barney Fife.
So glad to hear that it's in stage 1 -- very treatable and curable. My brother had this too, it was caught early, he had the same great result from the scan, had the very same radiation w/seeds treatment -- and didn't even miss one day of work. There has been no sign of cancer since then. Eight years later, he is still doing great.
I don't want to sound like a Scrooge, but my family participated in this one year and our experience was less than exciting. We were very glad to have the opportunity to help truly needy people, and we bought items which were specified on gift tags for some children. Unfortunately, their mom actually complained about the items, even though they were very nice. The kids seemed to be okay with them until the mom complained. We ended up wishing we could give them to people who would really appreciate them, but that was not possible, nor would we have done that if we could. That left such a sour taste in our mouths, we have participated in Samaritans Purse Christmas box program since then instead.
I am really glad these people were apprehended. They don't deserve to be out on the streets. Women, when you're in the store or loading items into your vehicles, please be extra careful to make sure your purse cannot be grabbed, especially during the upcoming holidays.
Barely over 50% is a "crushing majority"??? Surely you jest. Obama did not win in a landslide, by any means. Did you know that more people than live in Florida voted? This is true for at least one other state too. BTW -- if you consider comments Obama made in PA during the 2008 campaign, it is patently obvious that he does not consider himself to be president of a certain demographic. Should those people consider him to be their president?
Why would anyone think that the ER is "this is the only way anyone can get care"? Family members have held at jobs which did not provide medical insurance, and they went to regular doctors if medical issues were not bona fide emergencies, during regular office hours. I agree with the poster who questions what SPLOST funds are being used for, and it is true that NMC is now a for-profit enterprise. Our hospital taxes are high too. I agree that people should not (ab)use the ER during regular office hours, whether they have medical insurance or not.
Thank God for homeschooling. This has been a viable option since 1985, and many local students have benefited from it. I don't know if charter schools can approach this success rate, but if they do as well they are to be commended.

Sounds like wasted money to me. The government should be looking for viable ways to reduce our national debt instead of handing out monies like this.
