Heritage has its new head football coach.
Tampa, FL - Tyler Austin has been invited to his first spring training at the professional level. The former Heritage stand out told MILB.com he will be invited to the New York Yankees’ spring camp next month in Tampa.
The coaching search is on for Heritage High School.

In a battle of post players, Breanna Richardson of Rockdale was just a little better than Salem’s Jennifer Tindi. Richardson had 28 points, including the go-ahead points in overtime as Rockdale outlasted its county rival, 62-60 in non-region play.

In its first meet of the season, the Rockdale swim team finished two places behind Whitewater. Thursday, the Bulldogs got a little revenge. Rockdale had five first-place finishes in a 384-351 win over the Fayette County school in a quad meet at Johnson Park.
Three years ago, the Salem boys basketball team accomplished something it never had: reach the state playoffs after a region runner-up finish.
