@News BODY 10.5:John Clark, district store manager for Publix and Joe Bonner, manager of the Brown Bridge store, present a corporate gift check of $14,541 to Covington-Newton County United Way Administrative Assistant Pierrette Hall. The check was in addition to the $20,000 raised by the 100 employees of the Brown Bridge store. In addition, Publix contributed a check for $1,447.73 from its Feed the Hungry program. That money was donated to the Emergency Relief Fund and distributed to those in need in Newton County. The Feed the Hungry donation is made each year to all counties where Publix is located and comes from their corporate office in Florida. -Special Photo
