Photo detail

This sad-looking little guy's name is Goose and he was turned in because of his owners' work schedule. A poodle-mix, he's chocolate and white with striking hazel-colored eyes. Goose is only about 4 months old and is already housebroken, so he's a smart little critter. He'll weigh about 15 pounds as an adult. He'll make an ideal companion and family pet and deserves a good home that will put a smile on his face. He can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal.
