The Pre-K4 and K5 classes from Piedmont Academy learned about Southern Christmas traditions, as they took a field trip to the Jarrell Plantation in Juliette. The students learned and saw how children of the late 1800's and early 1900's lived, celebrated and decorated for Christmas. Both classes decorated wooden ornaments and hung them on a cedar tree inside one of the many family houses still standing at Jarrell Plantation. The visit concluded with a candy cane hunt and each child receiving a toy representative of the era. K4 is taught by Jennifer Sanders and K5 is taught by Julie Tucker. Pictured, from left, are (back row) is the K5 class Brooklyn Rosser, Natalie Kate Sanders, Olivia Mathews, Greta Wilkes, Mark Myles, Knowlen Jones, Jake Pope and Hudson Reed; (front row K4 class) Kolin Ragan, Gabe Moore, Hunter Thomson, Aiden Bramlett, Gavin McCart, Matt Allen, Andrew Cumbie, Chloe Milner and Jamus Wingate.
