The spelling competition was tense during times, especially for Clements Middle School seventh-grader Casey Roberson. In Round 8, he was the only student out of four to spell his given word correctly. However, the rules state that in that instance, a special round must be held with all of the contestants from that round. He ended up taking the runner up spot.

Cousins student wins county spelling bee for second year

Cousins Middle School seventh-grader Mackenzie Snyder won the county Spelling Bee for the second consecutive year.
