Photo detail

Toto has hit a bit of a rough road and is looking for a happy ending. This 2-year-old terrier mix was brought into the Newton County Animal Shelter after his owner gave him up because they had too many animals. Toto is housebroken, vaccinated and wormed, and ready to play with a new family. Toto can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal. (Special photo)
