Dr. Christopher Raridan of the Clayton State University Mathematics Department in the College of Information and Mathematical Sciences recently escorted 12 Clayton State students to the 92nd Annual Mathematical Association of America Southeastern Section Meeting held at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. Clayton State students attending the conference included Covington resident Christian Larsen, pictured second row, second from right, as well as Alex Adams (Hapeville), Sam Adams (Hapeville), Kenny Gillis (Riverdale), Hung Hua (Morrow), Christine Lengel (Ellenwood), (Covington), Sarah Minion (Fayetteville), Maria Morales-Beale (St Louis), Michael Ngo (Morrow), Myron Standridge (Forest Park), Jarvis Turner (Morrow) and recent graduate Pritul Patel (Forest Gate, East London, England). More than 150 presentations were given by students from 20 different colleges and universities. The students' travel was funded through CIMS. Dr. Anthony Giovannitti, Mathematics Department chair, and Dr. Lila Roberts, dean of CIMS, provided the necessary support for travel to conferences. A unit of the University System of Georgia, Clayton State University is located 15 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta.
