Photo detail

This sturdy little black and brown Border Terrier-mix is confident he'll soon be finding a good home because he knows what a great family pet he'll make. He's been named Willie and is only 3 months old and ready to be trained to fit into any welcoming family. He's had his shots, been wormed, and will probably weigh about 30 pounds when fully grown. He can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal.
