Santa waves to excited well-wishers as he circles the Square as he arrives for "A Southern Christmas is Downtown Covington." The 2012 Christmas season officially got underway with festivities on the Square Thursday night which included the arrival of Santa Claus, the lighting of the Historical Courthouse, musical performances and old-fashion carriage rides
