Doing her dance of gratitude for the diploma, Eastside High School senior DeMia ChonTaylor Grier celebrated with Principal Dennis Roddenberry during Friday's graduation ceremonies at Homer Sharp Stadium. He said he is proud of this year's graduating class, who honored him as a graduate too since he is retiring after this school year.

About 2,000 students from Alcovy, Eastside, Heritage, Newton, Rockdale County and Salem high schools participated in commencement exercises this week.
