Photo detail

This terrier-mix, perhaps Airedale, is a big, gangly male puppy at only 5 months old. Tan with black tips, he's a big ball of fur and and would make the best friend ever. He was found as a stray and could use a few good meals to fill out a bit. He'll probably weigh 50 pounds as an adult. He's had his first set of shots and been dewormed. He can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal.
