Mission Needing Missions, a group of residents who come together to serve God by serving others, recently worked as cooks and servers at a homeless shelter in Atlanta. Among those participating were administrators, educators and students from Gen. Ray Davis Middle School and Shoal Creek Elementary School, students from Rockdale County High School, Heritage High School, Conyers Middle School, Memorial Middle School, Tucker High School, and Hickory Flat Elementary School, as well as other area residents. Volunteers served more than 500 people at a homeless shelter on Peachtree Street the day before Thanksgiving. The project was spearheaded by Nicole Hooper and Janice Jones, who routinely volunteer at various shelters throughout the year in addition to volunteering every weekend at the shelter in Covington. Shown here are volunteers from a young adult missionary group from Alabama, National Association for the Prevention of Starvation, who also participated in the project.
