A.R. "Gus" Barksdale Boys and Girls Club members, from left, Olivia Talley, Amya Simpson, Jonathon Kirkpatrick and De'Ontay Walker display their essays which won their families free food assistance at Thanksgiving. The children wrote essays about why they thought their families needed the help during the holiday. The Spoonful of Hope Foundation, led by Sean Weatherspoon of the Atlanta Falcons, sponsored the program adn provided families with shopping sprees and other gifts.
