Nothing gets school off to a good start like a shopping spree and Target stores made it possible for 23 students from Newton County to come to their Conyers location and pick out new school supplies, backpack and uniforms. Here, Salvation Army volunteer Chrissy Busbee is shown with youngsters Nathaniel Callaway and Alicia Callaway who participated in the program. The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in London in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for more than 130 years in the United States. It offers a broad array of social services including food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and disadvantaged children. For this event the Salvation Army's Covington location was invited to participate with Target. Since 1946, Target has given 5 percent of its income through community grants and programs which today equals more than $3 million a week. - Special photo
