If you like a cat with a bit of attitude, this guy would like to interview you for the position of roommate and cook. He'll add your name to the list. He's a great cat and has been named, what else, Morris. His honey-colored coat is quite lustrous and while his exact age is a mystery, he admits to being an adult. He can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal.-- Staff photo by Sue Ann Kuhn-Smith
