Special Photo. U.S. Army 1st. Lt. Kathleen "Katie" Pulliam, a graduate of Salem High School and of the West Point Military Academy, poses with her husband, 1st Lt. Dimitri del Castillo, for his birthday on June 9 in Afghanistan where both had been deployed to since April. On Saturday, del Castillo died from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit in Afghanistan.
