Rockdale girls fall in Peach State tourney
ATLANTA — Rockdale suffered its first loss of the season Thursday in the Peach State Holiday Invitational.
Bulldogs still perfect on the mats
The Rockdale wrestling team keeps on winning. Thanks to eight individuals who each went 4-0, the Bulldogs won the Crossbone Duals at East Paulding High School last weekend, improving to 13-0 in duals on the young season.
Rockdale Volleyball Finishes With First State Ranking
Conyers — The Rockdale volleyball made some more history Tuesday. After reaching the state quarterfinals for the first time, the Bulldogs are ranked No. 10 in the final gaprepcountry.com Class AAAA coaches poll of the 2011 season. It's the first state ranking in the history of the volleyball program. Rockdale won its second consecutive Area 8-AAAA championship before knocking off Northgate, who at the time was ranked in the top 10, in the first round, 3-2.
RCHS Bulldogs: Clarke Pitches Shut Out in Conyers
Conyers ? On a cool, drizzly Friday evening in Conyers, one football team was making preparations for the postseason, while the other was headed in the opposite direction. Quenshaun Watson and Jalani Payne combined for four rushing touchdowns and the Gladiators’ defense held Rockdale to 77 total yards in a 44-0 victory in Region 8-AAAA play. The Gladiators, who won their seventh consecutive game and moved to 8-1, will try to knock off unbeaten Flowery Branch next weekend with a top-two playoff spot, and possible Region 8-AAAA championship on the line.
