The Covington/Newton County Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new offices for Newton County READS at 4118 Herring St. at the Family Resource Center East. Newton County READS is a non-profit, volunteer-based literacy organization that proviides literacy programs for Newton County adults who want to improve their reading skills, prepare to earn a GED certificate or to learn English as a second language.
