Eighteen students from Tara Pope's second-grade class at Piedmont Academy in Monticello made a special trip to the Newton County Library in Covington on Wednesday morning to celebrate Boyd's win. Each student in his class also was awarded a $25 gift of education certificate to open a 529 Plan account and other special gifts from the Path2College 529 Plan, which is under the direction of Chuck Penuel, pictured.

Covington resident Taylor Boyd, a second-grader at Piedmont Academy in Monticello, was awarded $5,529 in the form of a college savings plan from the Path2College 529 Plan in partnership with the Georgia Public Library Service for being the winner of the 2011 Destination College Savings Sweepstakes.
