First, the No. 3 seed Bulldogs went on the road to Cartersville and knocked off No. 2 seed Woodland 77-73 in the first round of the Class AAAA state playoffs. RCHS Bulldogs: Clarke Pitches Shut Out in Conyers
On a cool, drizzly Friday evening in Conyers, one football team was making preparations for the postseason, while the other was headed in the opposite direction. Quenshaun Watson and Jalani Payne combined for four rushing touchdowns and the Gladiators’ defense held Rockdale to 77 total yards in a 44-0 victory in Region 8-AAAA play. The Gladiators, who won their seventh consecutive game and moved to 8-1, will try to knock off unbeaten Flowery Branch next weekend with a Region 8-AAAA championship on the line.
Bulldogs In quarterfinals for first time
A whole lot of history was made inside Rockdale High School's quaint gymnasium Tuesday evening. The Bulldogs' volleyball team erased an early deficit in game four and rolled to a 25-17 win over Harris County, clinching a 3-1 victory in the second round of the Class AAAA state playoffs.
