After four years as Newton County School superintendent, Steven Whatley will retire at the end of this month with more than 20 years at NCSS and 36 years as an educator. He intends to stay in Newton County with his family.

COVINGTON — Newton County School Superintendent Steven Whatley may be busy packing up his office this week, but that doesn't mean you won't see him out in the community after he retires at the end of the month.
