Ready to learn
Thousands of Newton County students and their parents visited their schools during open house events Thursday afternoon. At Alcovy High School, rising ninth-graders Cole Patterson, left, and Bradley Wilson looked for their posted home rooms before they headed into the school for the first time. About 20,000 students will start the new school year in the Newton County School System today.
