Rockdale County commissioners to hold first reading of proposed 2016 budget

After hearing the proposed 2016 budget last week, Rockdale County commissioners have had the opportunity to submit their recommendations and a first reading of the appropriations budget will be held Tuesday.

Search for suspects in Walmart homicide continues | PHOTOS

Police are narrowing in on identifying the two suspects who ran over and killed a Newton County woman, Marsha Johnson, Nov. 16 at the Covington Walmart. Authorities believe the pair were likely the suspects in an armed robbery of another elderly woman Nov. 12 in South Carolina and have been linked to a poultry plant in Tennessee, where Johnson’s credit card was found. A $10,000 reward is being offered by the Covington Police Department’s Police Who Care Fund, the Chattanooga Police Department, Walmart and Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest of the two suspects depicted here. Culvert work delayed in Lambeth Estates

A stormwater project to replace deteriorated culverts on Lambeth Way in Lambeth Estates subdivision will be delayed due to a backlog in the manufacture of box culverts.
