COVINGTON — A burglary was reported at a BP Gas Station on Ga. Highway 81, but the only items missing were a gallon of milk and a package of butter.
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call when the burglary alarm went off at the convenience store of the BP gas station around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday. The officers found shattered glass on the right door to the entrance and called the owner Roberto Rodriguez of McDonough.
After the NCSO cleared the building to be sure there were no suspects, Rodriguez reported the only items missing were a gallon of milk and a package of butter, Deputy Felicia Jefferson said.
Upon watching the surveillance video, the suspect is said to be a white male around 5 feet, 10 inches tall with black hair.
Jefferson said the burglary is still under investigation and anyone who has information about the suspect can call the NCSO at 678-625-1400.
