Monastery looking for 5K racers to benefit food bank

Volunteer Robbie Ewert loads cereal, juice, yogurt, butter and other provisions into the back of a car belonging to a family visiting the Monastery of the Holy Spirit to take advantage of the food bank. Each Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m., the monastery provides free food to the needy through its food bank. To help offset the cost of the food, some of which is purchased from the Atlanta Food Bank, the monastery is holding a 5K—Fun Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. on June 7. For the full story, see the Citizen East Metro page inside. (Staff Photo: Karen Rohr)
