I firmly believe that there are some folks out there that need to know that Jesus isn’t done with them. Those people who are probably feeling lost, confused and unwanted need to know His word says in Philippians Chapter 1, verse 6 “being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
If you are reading this column, then you need to know that there is a God who loves you so much and that His blood covers a multitude of sins, and can erase every doubt in your mind. He has a very important plan for you and your life while on this Earth.
My heart has been burdened lately when I look at some people and I can see straight through them. On the outside they flash a smile and say they are fine, but their eyes give them away.
It breaks me heart to see people, even Christians who know about the hope of Jesus, yet they still have a feeling like they are not wanted and are unsure of God’s plan for their lives.
I can only speak for myself, but I have found in my life when I am having feelings of inadequacy or that I’m not good enough, I’ve allowed my circumstances to consume my thoughts and heart. All that has really happened is I’ve allowed doubt and a lack of faith in who I say I believe in to do what He needs to do in my life.
I also believe that we forget about God’s grace in times of uncertainty. Yet, He continues to pour out His grace upon us, even though we really don’t deserve it.
One of the sweetest people I know, Kristie Blackwell, recently gave me Mercy Me’s newest album, titled “Welcome To The New.” This album is spot-on for me and my life right now.
As I began to play some of the songs, one song in particular stood out to me.
The title of it is, “Finished What He Started,” and the first verse and chorus go like this: “I don’t have to know you To know that you will go through hard times It’s just part of life/ Don’t let that moment blind you/ And don’t let it define you/ Take heart/ That’s not who you are/ Our God is able, More than capable, To be faithful to the end, He’ll finish what He started.”
Those words couldn’t be any better to share with someone who is struggling right now. We all need to be reminded from time to time that God is more than able and more than capable of finishing what He began in us. All He needs is for us to be obedient and trust Him.
We also need to remember that when He promises us something, He will follow through with His word.
