Payne could be dual-sport player at Huntingdon

— After four years Alcovy football/baseball player Tristan Payne has done a great deal to make the Tigers a winning athletic program. He will hopefully be doing for the same for Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. Payne, going Huntingdon to be on the football team where he will probably be in the secondary, will also get a chance to play baseball during the offseason.

"If you look at what he's done for this school in the past four year, he's been a leader. Even though he got hurt and didn't play baseball, he was there for every game. What an outstanding kid and what a quality leader," Alcovy head football coach Kirk Hoffman said. "He's one of those that is going to get the team moving in the right direction. If you think about football when we sputtered on offense and he got us moving just because of his will to compete. He's the spark plug that gets the motor going."
