This sweet lab mix could live up to her name a lot easier if she had a place to call home. Smiley is between 1 and 2 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. She loves to play and would be a great dog for a familhy with a fenced-in yard. She is up-to-date on her shots and is ready to jump in and become a member of your family. To learn more about Smiley or to bring her into your home, contact Rockdale County Animal Care and Control Shelter at 1506 Rockbridge Road in Conyers. At the Rockdale shelter adoption fees for dogs are $30 and $20 for cats. Spaying or neutering is required for adoption. The shelter is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The phone number is 770-278-8403. (Special photo)

Questions to ask before adopting a pet:

• Can I make a long-term commitment to this pet?

• Will I be able to spend enough time with a new pet?

• Am I prepared for the cost a new pet will bring?

• Which pet is right for my home and my family?
