Reward offered for information about Omnicare robbery

CONYERS — The city of Conyers and Crime Stoppers are offering up to a $7,000 reward for any information that leads to the indictment of the armed robbery suspects who targeted Omnicare in January.

Around 1 a.m. Monday, Jan 20, the two men broke into Omnicare, a business located on Sigman Road that provides pharmacy-related services to health care providers.

The suspects apparently broke into the business and forced two employees at gunpoint to get on the floor. One of the suspects then took the gun and went to the rear warehouse area where he forced another employee to fill several tote bags with pharmaceuticals, according to the Conyers Police Department.

The suspect then ordered the third employee to go to the front of the building with the other two victims. The two suspects duct-taped the victims’ hands behind their backs and their feet together, the incident report states.

One of the suspects took car keys from the first employee’s desk and stole her black Mazda RX-8. Police reported the Mazda as stolen and were able to locate it about three hours later off Turner Hill Road in DeKalb County.

Conyers Police Chief Gene Wilson pushed for the increased reward commitment by the city of Conyers to supplement Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta’s existing reward.

“We hope that offering this reward will encourage folks with any information to come forward and get these dangerous criminals and prescription drugs off the streets,” Wilson said.

CPD Officer Kim Lucas said said that anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.crimestoppersatlanta.org. Tips can also be texted to CRIMES (274637) by typing CSA + the tip.
