Planet Fitness, a health club franchise, recently opened a location at 1680 Ga. Highway 138, in the building of the former T.J. Maxx clothing store. The Conyers location is the sixth Planet Fitness business to open in the Atlanta area.
According to a press release, Planet Fitness prides itself on affordable membership and a Judgement Free Zone, where members are welcomed by a non-intimidating environment. Each club also features a “Lunk Alarm,” a purple and yellow siren on the wall used to enforce the policy of no grunting, dropping weights or judging others.
“We’re thrilled to bring our Judgement Free Zone to Conyers,” said Planet Fitness General Manager Mike Rymsha in the release. “As we grow and enhance the brand, we look forward to continuing to exceed our members’ expectations by providing a high quality, judgement free fitness experience at an extremely affordable cost.”
The Conyers Planet Fitness is 23,000 square feet and offers cardio machines, fully-equipped locker rooms with day lockers and showers, two massage chairs, 25 flat screen televisions, a 30-minute express circuit and 12-minute ab-circuit, four hydro-massage beds, one tanning booth, two tanning beds and one Total Body Enhancement booth.
The club is open 24 hours Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to access to the equipment, membership includes unlimited small group fitness instruction by a certified trainer.
Planet Fitness is also the gym sponsor of NBC’s The Biggest Loser.
