Huge consginment sale begins Saturday

If the words ‘consignment sale’ make a smile stretch across your face, then you’ll be happy to know it is time for the semi-annual Tykes, Tots and Teens Consignment Sale at the Georgia International Horse Park. Brittany Smith of Covington helps stock the toy section on Wednesday afternoon with this Kota Interactive Dinosaur. It takes hundreds of volunteers like Smith to help prepare for the sale, inspecting clothing, toys, bedding items, and more, to make sure the items for sale are in good condition. Laura Johns, founder of the TTT sale, said Wednesday that things were running on schedule with the 900-plus consignors that have signed up for the Spring/Summer sale. Johns said she wants shoppers to know although they have about 500 IKEA shopping bags available, it is OK to bring your own cart to fill up with items to be purchased. The sale is open to the public starting 9 a.m. Saturday and closes at 8 p.m. It will continue each day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through March 15. There are re-stock days; a Thirty Thursday, when prizes will be given away; half-price days; and a Dollar-Dash. To see a complete schedule, visit: www.tykestotsteens.com. (Staff Photo: Julie Wells)
