COVINGTON — Two of the three teenagers who had been reported missing have been found, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.
Amani McNeal, 15, returned home on her own Monday after she observed her picture and information in the media, said Sgt. Cortney Morrison.
“The Newton County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank everyone involved in the search for Amani McNeal,” Morrison stated in a press release. “The media, law enforcement and citizens never failed to give up on Amani McNeal, and as a result she was located.”
On Monday afternoon, another teen who had been reported missing Thursday when she didn’t return home from school, was found, Morrison stated.
“Semetric Caldwell has now been located safe and unharmed. She turned herself in and is in custody of juvenile court,” Morrison said.
The Sheriff’s Office is still actively seeking one other runaway juveniles. Fifteen-year-old Destiny Davis, who reportedly was with Caldwell when they left from school, is still missing as of press time.
Morrison said Davis is not believed to be in danger at this time, but investigators continue to work to try to locate her.
Anyone with information about Davis is asked to contact the Newton County Sheriff’s Office at 678-625-1400 or can leave an anonymous tip at 678-625-5007 or online at www.newtonsheriffga.org
