Celebrating Dr. Seuss

COVINGTON — Newton County is extending the celebration of the creative and poetic children’s book writer Theodor Seuss Geisel’s birthday, which was observed on Sunday.

The Newton County Library System will hold three separate birthday festivities for Dr. Seuss this week.

Porter Memorial Branch Library, located at 6191 Ga. Highway 212, will kick off the party at 4:30 p.m. today. The fun continues at the Newborn Library Service Outlet, located at 4224 Ga. Highway 142 in Newborn, at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The birthday celebrations will end at the Covington Branch Library, located at 7116 Floyd St., on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
