This little guy has already had a good bit of transition in his young life, but hasn’t let that affect his sweet disposition. Fluffy is just about 9 months old but was given up to the Newton County Animal Control by his owners who moved into an apartment that does not allow pets. As a poodle mix, Fluffy is intelligent, easy to train obedient and can adjust to just about any size living quarters. He is housebroken and weighs 15 pounds. To learn more about Fluffy or any of the pets ready for adoption, visit the Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal amount of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. To 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. To 1 p.m. On Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal.

Can I make a long-term commitment to this new pet?

Will I be able to spend enough quality time with this pet?

Am I fully prepared for the cost a new pet will bring?

Which pet is right for my home and my family?
