COVINGTON — Former candidate for the state House District 112 seat Ester Fleming is now putting his support behind Dave Belton of Morgan County who will face Aaron Brooks in the run-off.
“During the primary campaign season, I came to respect Dave Belton as a solid conservative and hard worker. I believe he is a man dedicated to service,” Fleming said in a press release. “After having devoted more than two decades of his life to our military and our country, I believe he will take that same level of commitment and devotion to his service as our next State Representative.”
Belton said he admired Fleming’s race and was excited to receive his support.
“Ester and his wife have really been the backbone of the Republican party and I’m excited to have received his endorsement,” Belton said.
Early voting for the July 22 runoff begins June 30. Voters in Newton County can go to the Administration Building to cast a ballot from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until July 18.
Fleming asks his supporters to now back Belton in the upcoming race.
“This is a critical time for our district and our state. Whether voting early, beginning June 30th, or on election day, July 22nd, please vote for Dave Belton,” Fleming said.
